Lili Boulanger (1893–1918) and Nadia Boulanger (1887–1979) were French sisters and influential musicians; Lili was a groundbreaking composer and the first woman to win the Prix de Rome, while Nadia became one of the 20th century’s most renowned composition teachers, mentoring generations of major composers including Aaron Copland and Philip Glass.
