opis
Echoing the artistic exhibition of warrior or religious dances, the events linked to seasonal or corporate festivals, the musicians have found and still find endless possibilities to provoke the swaying of the body, the play of the legs and the movement of the feet. As such, they are benefactors of humanity.
With the development of classical musical art and choreography, and in the vastness of the forms they espouse, the dances have benefited from serious grooming and sometimes extreme sophistication. But these new dressings have generated so many masterpieces that we will never stop hearing or rehearing these stylized versions of gesture and movement. Such as this varied Sarabande by Handel (circa 1730), universally known and distributed thanks to Barry Lyndon, the famous film by Stanley Kubrick, or the bewitching Ritual Dance of Fire (1914), the centerpiece of Wizarding Love that Manuel de Falla wrote after a gypsy song intended to "ward off evil spirits", or even, in total contrast, the waltz that the Armenian Aram Khatchaturian composed to accompany Masquerade, the piece by Mikhail Lermontov (1941), which is unfolds to the rhythm of superb lyrical flights. Its relentless and lively movement makes those who try to dance it breathless!
Laure Favre-Kahn leads us in her wake in the exhilarating bubbling and melodic volutes of Hungarian Dances by Brahms, Mazurkas by Chopin or traditional Dances by Bartok.
