Tango has captivated audiences worldwide since the beginning of the 20th century. After breathtaking successes in its early days, tango was almost forgotten by the end of the 1950s. This was due in part to the overwhelming success of rock music and the changes in youth culture, which were directly opposed to the philosophy and aesthetics of tango.
Today, there is a tango scene full of young musicians and dancers bringing new stylistic ideas, and many promising new stars are emerging from this scene who are popular both in Argentina and abroad.
The CD "Tango De Bute" presents a selection of tangos that represent a glimpse into every tango period and every compositional style. "De bute" or "bute" means "excellence" or "excellent" in Lunfardo (tango slang).
The arrangements (bandoneón, piano, bass, vocals) avoid any pauses for effects, allowing the tangos to be listened to and danced to. The detailed CD booklet provides detailed information about tango in general, as well as the individual pieces in English and German.
