Although Leos Janácek is today an emblematic figure of Czech music, and he drew his inspiration mainly from the music of his homeland, his works based on folk music are little known. • Among these unjustly neglected works are his Moravian folk song adaptations, some of which also originate from his native Hukvaldy (Hochwald). Janácek left the musical material of the songs untouched and added a congenial piano accompaniment with the sensitivity of a restorer. • Martina Janková (soprano) and Tomás Král (baritone) as well as Ivo Kahánek at the piano take us on a musically especially rich trip to Janácek's homeland.
