Philip Glass' most famous opera Einstein on the Beach will be released by Opus Arte for the first time on DVD/Blu-ray. And all this in a luxurious setting and an authorised production accompanied by the composer. The choreographer is Lucinda Childs, who participated in the premiere of the piece at the Avignon Festival in 1976. The publication in a high-quality slipcase includes a hardcover-bound, 55-page book with exclusive texts (including German) and large-format photos. • The Philip Glass opera "Einstein on the beach" is often referred to as the "theatre of images". The 4 acts and 5 intermediate pieces are far removed from the traditional opera. With this early masterpiece, Glass established his worldwide fame as one of the composers of the 20th century. Many of his later works can already be discerned in their beginnings in this opera. The Philip Glass Ensemble mastered all the difficulties of this work, making it a milestone in the discography of this exceptional composer.
