An introduction to Egyptian dance and rhythm by Egypt's master percussionist Hossam Ramzy. The first part explains dance rhythms and plays examples of each. ("Intro" means spoken explanations, while Masmoudi, Maqsoum, Saaidi etc. are just the music) In the second part (from track 25), Hossam invites you to a drumming workshop. First he explains the different drums (tabla, darabuka, mazhar, duf, etc.) and then plays simple, easy-to-understand examples as well as examples of the rhythms in a complete percussion section.
