Horace Silver is one of the few jazz greats who can perform entire concert evenings exclusively with his own songs, some of which are so famous that even an audience of non-specialists could hum along. Every jazz lover, but also many non-jazzers know his catchy tunes - making him one of the few living standard composers of jazz. He also performed the brilliant performance in Orvieto, which is finally documented here on DVD, with his own compositions. 1976, the recording year of this jazz highlight, was undoubtedly a good year for the "classical" Horace Silver Quintet, which, surprisingly enough, had never been in the recording studio in this line-up.
