Handel: Sing-Along Messiah

Over the past 25 years, the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir's annual Sing-Along Messiah has not only become the largest and most popular sing-along event in Toronto, but has also become an essential ritual for many Canadian families. Always sold out, this Sing-Along Messiah is a true experience for the numerous attendees, who can contribute their voices to the collective singing of Handel's oratorio.
This film was recorded by the award-winning company 90th Parallel Productions. Ivars Taurins, the real-life choirmaster of the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir, was nominated for a Gemini Award for his role as Handel in the film.

The booklet provides the website where amateur singers can download the choirs and then sing along with "Mr. Handel" at home! The DVD includes five audio tracks by the Tafelmusik Chamber Choir as a bonus, featuring choral works by Handel, Bach, Vivaldi, and Mondonville.
