Although I was born in France, I spent my first months in Ålesund, a small town in northern Norway, where my father, a Norwegian, was a doctor. I still have a strong bond with Norway. Every year I spend my holidays on a small island south of Oslo.
There is no electricity and no running water there, but instead I have encounters with an overwhelming nature: catching fish in a net, picking berries, swimming in the sea and enjoying endless summer nights. In the program of my CD my French and Norwegian roots come together, with poems that evoke the connection between love and nature. • Karen Vourc'h
