Devised, curated, and performed by Nadine Benjamin (soprano) and Nicole Panizza (piano), the disc combines existing and premiere compositions by Copland, Hall, Zaninelli, Glickman, and Jarman-Pinto. The charismatic performances of Benjamin and Panizza act as powerful advocates for the American art song genre, firmly reinforcing its critical importance in the Anglo-American musical and literary performance realms. “Emergence: Emily Dickinson” seeks both to challenge and redefine the way in which we read, hear, and experience the creative ingenuity of Emily Dickinson.
