opis

New recordings of High-Baroque concertos and sonatas by Robert Valentine (c.1671-1747), an English composer living in 18th century Rome.

Robert Valentine was also a violinist who spent most of his career in Italy, where he was known as Roberto Valentini; his music blends English charm with Italianate elegance.

Founded and led by the flautist Enrico Casularo, Ensemble Afflatus specialises in the performance and recording of little- known, often unpublished music from 18th-century Italy.

Works:

•Roberto Valentini (aka Robert Valentine): Concerto in D Major: I. Allegro
•Roberto Valentini (aka Robert Valentine): Concerto in D Major
•Roberto Valentini (aka Robert Valentine): Sonata No. 6 Op. 13 in D Minor
•Roberto Valentini (aka Robert Valentine): Sonata No. 6 “La Frascati” in D Major
•Roberto Valentini (aka Robert Valentine): Sonata No. 1 in E Minor, Op. 13
•Roberto Valentini (aka Robert Valentine): Sonata No. 6 in A Minor
•Roberto Valentini (aka Robert Valentine): Concerto No. 2 in B-Flat Major
