Beschreibung
In Indian classical music, there are specific modes and ragas dedicated to the seasons, which have been explored by many generations of musicians. According to the Indian calendar, spring lasts from mid-February to mid-April and is called Vasant (or Basant).
The festival of Holi celebrates the arrival of spring. In this album, Baluji captures the ecstasy of spring and expresses seasonal feelings of renewal and hope through the subtle nuances of the selected ragas. He celebrates his mastery of the sitar with wonderful sensitivity and skill.
There are also some exciting moments, inspired by the distinctive tabla playing of Sukhvinder Singh "Pinky," with his lively interpretations of 1 relas and 2 chakradas. Baluji cannot see the colors of the flowers, but he has heard their voices, and they sing through this joyful album—Voice of the Flowers.
