Beschreibung
Great history in a splendid edition.
The dissident Christian movement known as Catharism received different names depending on its distribution area: Cathars and Manichaeans in Germany, Patarins and Cathars in Italy, Albigensians in Southern France. They themselves called themselves good people or good Christians and distinguished themselves by their vehement criticism of the Catholic Church and its hierarchy, which they considered unworthy because of the betrayal of the ideals of Christ and the apostles.

. Seven major sections provide an overview of five centuries, from the origin of Catharism to the heyday of Occitania, from the spread of Catharism to the conflict of the Albigensian Crusade and the introduction of the Inquisition, from the persecution of the Cathars to their extermination, from the Diaspora in Italy, Catalonia and Castile to the end of the Eastern Cathars with the conquest of Constantinople and Bosnia by the Ottoman army. The numerous, often unique, historical, documentary, musical and literary sources allow the most important moments of this touching, tragic history to be presented.
