Bruch; Weber; Rietz: The Romantic Clarinet
In her new program "The Romantic Clarinet", the Israeli clarinetist Sharon Kam knows how to inspire with romantic repertoire: in addition to the orchestral version of the Weber Quintet, the double concerto by Max Bruch with its unexpectedly harmonious combination of clarinet and viola, played here by Sharon's brother Ori Kam, can be heard. A real surprise, however, is the almost unknown concerto by Mendelssohn's contemporary Julius Rietz, which proves to be an unexpected romantic treasure.
