Abdelli's music, performed in his native Berber, expresses the feelings of displacement and loneliness often experienced by many people in exile.
Using North African bendirs, Armenian duduks, and Brazilian pandeiros, Abdelli combines his traditional Kabyle singing with modern and traditional influences from around the world.
Abdelli has performed with artists such as Ravi Shankar, Natacha Atlas, and Hossam Ramzy and was the opening act for Peter Gabriel's "Growing Up" tour.
His worldwide tours have taken him and his musicians to Pakistan, Morocco, the USA, France, and Switzerland, among other countries.
