Martin Spangenberg masters his instrument with virtuosity and elegance. Nevertheless, in Carl Maria von Weber's clarinet concertos he does not rely on pure brilliance. He chooses the tempos given by the composer very carefully - they are rather reserved and therefore give a new view of the great works. The romantic world with its pictorial allusions becomes alive in the overtures as well as in the Concertino through an exciting interpretation by the clarinettist and the orchestra M 18.
