Dominique Visse is the countertenor with the most personality. Visse is mellower here than he sometimes is and is partnered by Agnès Mellon in a wonderful selection of Madrigals. Visse and Mellon blend together with great musicianship, as well as expression. Some of the material is unfamiliar and therefore quite fresh. I have an extensive collection of vocal music of this period and this disc bears many re-listenings and is becoming a favorite.
