This unique recording of compositions by the famous Bohemian composer and bandmaster Julius Fučik took almost two years to prepare from mostly archived scores that have not been heard for over a century.

The 150th anniversary of his birth was in 2022 which provided an opportunity to demonstrate that he was not only also a master of marches, waltzes and overtures for which he is best known, but in other dance forms.

Fučik was the best-known composer of popular music from Czechia, with his compositions still being played worldwide. His most famous piece, Entry of the Gladiators, is familiar to almost everyone. While his music continues to be performed in concerts everywhere and numerous recordings have been made by orchestras and wind band, this album fills a gap by presenting many of his lesser-known dance pieces, all of which carry his unique style of composition, all in original form, including some hitherto little-known or unknown waltzes and marches.' – John Diamond, chairman of The Johann Strauss Society of Great Britain
