The famous and award-winning series of Bach cantatas on Soli Deo Gloria is supplemented by Part 13 of the series. It contains cantatas for the first and fourth Sunday in Advent and was recorded live in December 2000. We experience John Eliot Gardiner, the Monteverdi Choir and the English Baroque Soloists at their Bach Cantata Pilgrimage in an Advent concert in the largest Romanesque church in Cologne, St. Maria im Kapitol. The last stage of the one-year pilgrimage through Europe takes us to the atmospheric Michaeliskirche in Lüneburg, where Gardiner and his musicians gave a concert with three of the most captivating Bach cantatas.
