An immersion in the music of La Grande Écurie at the French court. The programme is based on the music that punctuated all the ceremonies of the French court from Henri IV to Louis XIV. Since it also follows the evolution of instrument making, it offers a chance to hear the specific and little-known tone colours of each period, and in particular the first recording of the reconstructed Bande de Grands Hautbois of the early seventeenth century in its complete formation of twelve double-reed instruments.
