The manifold colors in these pieces full of musical ideas…an homage to their idol Rachmaninoff. But nobody can describe this music better than the pianists themselves: »‘Rachmaninoff, Second Suite; Schubert, Fantasy; Mozart, Sonata!’ This is the authoritative answer that we received at the end of 1995 from our teacher, the piano legend Vladimir Krainev, when we were students in his solo class at the Hanover College of Music and asked which works we might prepare for our first piano duo competition. At the time we never would have imagined that almost twenty-five years later the idea for this grand project would be developed – one of which we are now so especially proud.« And rightly so. Their impressive interpretations of a whole wide range of compositions display Rachmaninoff’s multifacetedness in all its emotionally incredible, supercharged glory.
