Outraged at the church's money-grabbing machinations and convinced of the necessity of a public debate to restore faith in the fundamental texts of the Bible, Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Wittenberg Castle Church in 1517
Thus began the Reformation, which was to cover the whole of Europe. 500 years later, Graham Ross gives us here an insight into the emotional and dramatic power of its theological and cultural heritage with a programme that presents Bach's two great reformation cantatas as well as other choral-based works from the German and English traditions up to the 20th century.
