To play a repertoire for solo violin represents the ultimate challenge for a violinist. These works are actual tours de force, fields of experimentation that push back the limits of an instrument with a monodic basis. According to the aesthetics of his time, Tartini forgoes the counterpoint while sublimating its melodic side. Polyphony, discreet but present, keeps with the exclusive function of support to the song. He focuses on the substance of music itself, its capacity to move, its power to evoke, as only the greatest geniuses have been able to do. Adapting the bow technique is necessary in order to do the master of Padua's legendary control justice in that matter. Tartini's music requires a real claim over his style, in order to properly grasp its substance. At the crossroads between baroque and classical, it cultivates a chiaroscuro prized by the painters of the time, thanks to the unending alternation of cantabile and suonabile parts.
